Mar 21: Adam Ondra 9a, 8c+, 8c in a day – with Video by Jack Geldard – UKC Czech wonder kid Adam Ondra is showing exceptional form.On the 17th of March, Ondra redpointed Sanjski par extension (9a) Človek ne jezi se (8c+) and Popolni mrk (8c) at Misja Pec, Slovenia. This inspirational day comes just a few weeks after Adam managed to have possibly the most productive week off school for any climber – see our February news report: Adam Ondra Half-term break: 9a+, 9a+, 9a, 8c. Ondra, now aged just 15, has climbed several 9a´s and 9a+´s including La Rambla in Siurana.Ondra has also onsighted several routes around the 8c mark including Digital System and Rollito Sharma Extension.He climbed 8c at the age of 11 with an ascent of Mascherina and on the 29th of December 2005 he climbed an 8c+ at the age of 12 – Alien Carnage in France. Misja Pec, the jewel in the crown of Slovenian sport climbing, sits on the Italian / Slovenian border close to the neighbouring crag of Osp.Ondra has climbed there extensively with ascents of hard test pieces including Ekstaza 8c+/9a, Bitka s stalaktiti 8b+ and Active Discharge 8a.
