BMC Winter Essentials Lecture Series 2007

The first of the BMC´s excellent Winter Essentials lecture series kicks off in a few weeks time. These lectures are a great introduction to the skills required for winter climbing and walking and are must for novices and highly recommended for anyone looking to top up their knowledge. Sponsored by Lowe Alpine & Asolo the series will navigate it´s way around the UK in November.SPEAKERS & CONTENT These inspirational and educational talks will be presented by Dave Hollinger (aspirant Guide & MIC) and Rob Jarvis (MIC). Whatever aspect of winter mountaineering you aspire to, Dave and Rob will make you aware of the skills required to explore the winter mountains. Topics covered include equipment and clothing, navigation, footwork, route planning, avalanche awareness, climbing and much more. There will be a host of humorous tales from which to glean invaluable advice and photos to inspire you on your winter adventures.
