Cliffhanger – Graves Park, this weekend

by Alan James The big event this weekend is Cliffhanger, the UK´s largest outdoor outdoor-pursuits festival, covering a footprint of 90,000 square metres in Graves Park, in the South West corner of the city. The event has been weel-publicised around the city and it is hoped that it will expose thousands to the fun of different outdoor pursuits, including climbing. One of the main attractions is the British Bouldering Championships which will see around 200 of Britain´s top boulderers battle it out to decide the national champions for 2007; seniors on Saturday, juniors on Sunday. Other features to look forward to include: Alpine Beer FestivalGerman Oompah Music, Live Bands and DJ´sTraditional Beer Festival GamesFarmers / Arts & Craft MarketsFood and Drink Stalls, Cocktail / Cafe Bar Area Kids Play AreaOrienteering Ultra Sprint Event – competition and open to the public.
