Climbing Round-Up

New hardest route down under Lee Cossey completed a long standing project at Diamond Fall, in the Blue Mountains to create Sly Old Fox (8c+ / 34), now likely Australia´s hardest sport route. Lee actually sent the route on the 10th August but the news is only coming out now. The new route climbs Fantastic Mr. Fox (8c / 33) to two thirds height and then steps left to finish up Grey Area (8c / 33) incorporating Grey Area´s powerful crux. Diamond climbs Ceuse 8c+ Shawn Diamond has climbed Ba, ba, black sheep in Ceuse, France. Shawn had previously sent Biographie (8c) last year at Ceuse. What makes these ascents even more newsworthy is the year time lapse and Shawn´s constant battle with Crohn´s disease. Crohn´s disease is an auto-immune disorder of the intestines and in the worse cases requires numerous surgeries to treat. Source: www.climbing.com.au & www.8a.nu
