The outdoor retailer Cotswold (www.cotswoldoutdoor.com) have teamed up with Plas Y Brenin (www.pyb.co.uk), the National Mountain Centre to bring you a new online resource to help you stay safe whilst climbing, heralded as a ´base camp for mountain safety.´ The website is called www.stayontheedge.co.uk “Even the most experienced climbers and mountaineers need to keep their mountain senses razor sharp at all times. That´s how you strike the right balance between the instinct for adventure and the instinct for survival. We´ve called maintaining this balance staying on the edge, not over it” Instructors from Plas Y Brenin will be sharing their mountain skill and gear knowledge in articles. One article by Plas y Brenin Senior Instructor Carlo Forte (MIC/IML) discusses how to Know Your Limits, with recommendations on how to gain experience and skills in the mountains to help understand the fine line between adventure and misadventure. Other features of the site include Gear Guides and Top Tips from both instructors, climbers and mountaineers (including prizes for the best user-submitted tips).
