E9 7a from Mauro Calibani

Mauro Calibani, more known as a boulderer, has opened a bold new line at Collina di Interprete, Mount Sibillines National Park, in Central Italy. Mauro took full advantage of the crisp conditions of 15 October and climbed Is not always Pasqua, E9 7A (8b+ 8A), using a few small nuts and two cams of a Friend #4. About English grades… Let´s just say “E9” stands for “very hard plus way scary and dangerous” and “7A” for “a very hard hardest move/sequence”. An E8 6c would probably, and this is the strange part, be more dangerous but not as difficult overall. The highest grade in the British trad system is E10, 7B. Planet Mountain
