FRI NIGHT VID: Alexandre Buisse – Why Do We Climb?

The Adventure Shot photography shoot-out held at ShAFF last weekend was a great event with a packed audience being entertained by compere Niall Grimes, organiser Ian Parnell, and audio visual presentations from 5 talented photographers. The five involved in the shoot-out were three professionals: Adam Long (www.adamlong.co.uk), Richard Seipp (www.qwertyphoto.com) and Robbie Shone (www.shonephotography.com); and two winners from the UKC competition, Alex Buisse (UKC gallery) and Alex Ekins (UKC gallery). The voting was managed by Grimer in his inimitable style using a carrot and a cardboard box amongst other things, but in the end there were few complaints since the winner was clear to most – Alexandre Buisse's stunning set of images trying to answer the age-old question, “why do we climb?”Alexandre (right) won £500 plus £700 worth of Goretex clothing courtesy of Arcteryx – the sponsors of the event.Ian Parnell on behalf of the judges said:”When I set up this event I advised the photographers that as a live event their photos needed to have that “wow factor” to impress the audience and Alex had that impact with almost everyone of his images.  Whilst at times the speed of Alex's presentation threatened a heart attack, the consistent quality of his images shone through.  An outstanding presentation.”VIDEO: Why Do We Climb Diesen Artikel inkl.
