FRI NIGHT VID: Bouldering in Fontainebleau

Boulderer and film-maker Jack Smith-Keegin has put together a short feature on his recent trip to Fontainebleau, France.Font seems a popular location to feature in short climbing videos, perhaps due to the ease of filming bouldering compared to other types of climbing and perhaps due to the natural beauty of the forest and the aesthetic nature of the climbs there. Some of these films capture the essence and fun of Font more than others. We think Jack's film hits the nail on the head. Here he introduces his film:”It's not very exotic, and it doesn't feature any hard climbing, but hopefully the film shows how beautiful a place Font can be to climb, whatever your ability. Some harder climbs were sent during the holiday (honest!), but, perhaps inevitably, the camera wasn't rolling at the time.We stayed at Maisonbleau, which is a stunning base for a Font trip – a vast improvement on our usual tent-based accommodation. Neil let us in on some of his encyclopaedic Font knowledge, and even let us glimpse his secret guide, so thanks are due to him. This is the first film we've shot with a DSLR, and we're pleased with the results – if nothing else, it'll be a nice way to remember a great trip!”  Diesen Artikel inkl.
