Graham´s Realization

Yesterday Dave Graham finally succeeded in climbing Realization (f9a+) in Ceuse, France. This famous route has seen a lot of attention from some of the world´s best climbers since it was first put up by Chris Sharma in 2001 but Graham is only the 4th successful redpoint after Sharma, Patxi Usobiaga and Sylvain Millet. Graham had first tried the route in 2001 and actually belayed Chris Sharma on the first ascent (featured in Dosage1) but it is a measure of the difficulty of the route that it took 6 years, and many visits, before success.Related News: Chris Sharma first ascent of Three Degrees of Separation (f9a) at Ceuse>> Graham climbs Ali-Hulk, f9a, and onsights f8b+>> In other sport climbing news, the young French phenomenon Charlotte Durif (16) has climbed 2 8c´s in the last 2 weeks. One in France (Beberetchos, Gorges de la Durbie) and the other in Rodellar, Spain (Geminis). This was her third and fourth 8c and it´s pretty remarkable that a 16 year old can climb 2 8c´s at 2 different crags (in 2 different countries) in 2 weeks. Sources: www.kairn.com, BigUp Blog
