Intercounties Fellrunning – Crowden Horseshoe

The Intercounties Fell Running Championship was held yesterday (Sunday 13th) at the Crowden Horseshoe race in the Derbyshire Peak District. The race was an 8 mile loop starting at Crowden youth hostel and joining the route of the Pennine Way to Black Hill, before coming back to the youth hostel via Westend Moss. The race was run as an open race, with a number of runners also selected to represent their counties. Counties teams were made up of four runners, with three to count in the team competition. Unsuprisingly the competition was dominated by runners from the north. The race was run in overcast and warm conditions, with rain setting in as the last runners were heading into the finish.
