John´s Dunne it

David Simmonite reports: John Dunne has just made the first ascent of one of the most stunning and important new routes climbed in Britain in the last decade. The Great Escape is a bold three-pitch route on the impressive walls of The Bastion, Cioch-na-h-Oighe on the isle of Arran off the south-west coast of Scotland. The route is one of the last great problems in Scotland and is graded HXS 6b, 6c, 6c. Without doubt it is a classic route that will rank amongst the best in Britain. Once again it shows John´s commitment not only to push the boundaries but also search out the great unclimbed lines. Full story on John Dune Climbing
