John Bachar Fundraiser –
Limited Edition Photographs
[von Phil Bard]

Bachar
BacharJohn Bachar was seriously injured in an auto accident on August 13th, in which his business partner Steve Karafa was killed. John was airlifted to a hospital in Utah where it was found that he has a number of broken vertebra near his neck. He will likely require surgery in the near future. Several funds have been established to help defray some of the huge medical expenses that will no doubt follow, and send some aid to Steve's family.

From 1982 to 1989, during the height of John's climbing career and public attention, I was priviledged to take some 2000 images of him on various freesolo's and roped climbs in Yosemite and other locations. Many of these images have been published in media articles about him and used in climbing shoe ads.

I'm establishing special Fundraiser Limited Editions of 25 prints of each of these images to assist in raising money for John and Steve's family. None of these images has ever been sold to individuals as prints. They offer an opportunity to assist John and Steve's family in a time of great need and at the same time own something which honors John's many contributions to the world of rockclimbing.

Each of these prints is approximately 11″x14″ in size, printed on state of the art cotton rag semigloss paper utilizing current Ultrachrome K3 ink technology. They will have lifespans exceeding 100 years if displayed properly under glass. Each will come signed and overmatted with musuem board ready to frame. The cost will be $75 each plus postage. At Cirrus Digital we are donating all time and materials to produce these prints in order that ALL money collected except postage can go directly to John and Steve's family.

I have priced these images affordably to enable all who wish to help out to do so. Thank you in advance.
