Sherpa Tops Everest 16 Times

Appa Sherpa has broken his own record by reaching the summit of Everest for the sixteenth time! The 45 year-old came out of retirement in 2003 to make a special trip as part of the 50th anniversary of the mountain´s first ascent. Last week we reported that Swede Tomas Olsson fell whilst making a ski descent of the Norton Couloir on the North Face of Everest. His body has been found some 2,500m below. 8 people have so far perished in the past few weeks on the mountain.
