SMS Saves the Day

For all those who think mobile phones should be left at home… A man from Cheshire was rescued at the weekend after exchanging text messages with the RAF. He had fallen, injuring his chest and legs somewhere in the Llanberis Pass. Although the man had a mobile phone with him, it would not work because of a poor signal. However, the rescuers were able to send him a text message asking for his exact location. He received the message and responded within minutes and was soon winched to safety. Story reported on bbc.co.uk.
