UK Climbing Magazines Change Senior Editors

As reported previously, Bernard Newman is to step down as editor of Climber – Britain´s longest running climbing magazine. As of 1st October assistant editor Kate Burke will become senior editor. Bernard was editor of the infamous Mountain Magazine that ran in the 1970´s & 80´s. We´ve also just heard that Climb Magazine has been cutting back on its editorial staff with the ´letting go´ of Ian Smith. Ian had been the deputy editor of High Magazine and joined the Climb editorial staff when High & On The Edge merged in 2005. With both magazines changing staff, it seems that the traditional UK climbing media are having a difficult time.
