Kilian Fischhuber recently visited South Africa's incredible sandstone cliff, the Wow Prow, in order to attempt the second ascent of Digital Warfare 8b+/5.14a. The first ascent was logged last year by the American Paige Claassen while on an around-the-world tour of tough sport climbs.

She was told about the route by its bolter, Andrew Pedley, one of the the Wow Prow's developers. Andrew calls the Prow 'the most brilliant rock I've ever seen' and named the route because of the strain its many small pockets put on the finger digits. Get it?

Digital Warfare was voted the best new route of 2013 – no surprise once you've seen it. In this clip Kilian makes it look like a warmup in what is surely one of the most impressive single pieces of climbing we have witnessed this year.
