BMC Leading Ladder – Grand Final Dates

by Jack Geldard UKC The grand final of the BMC Leading Ladder series has been confirmed for Saturday 29 March at the new Awesome Walls in Stockport. The top 15 climbers from each category will qualify for the final and these qualifiers will be contacted by the BMC on the 10th of March. It´s not too late to boost your score with 5 rounds still to go at: London – Westway, Sheffield – The Edge, Southampton – Calshot, Sunderland – Sunderland Wall, Leeds – The Leeds Wall. The leading ladder has come under a certain amount of criticism, with grades, consistency and rules all being questioned.Many concerns have been raised in this UKC Thread.However this is a major national event and has a great potential for future development. To quote Lucy Creamer (BMC Competition Climbing Officer): “As you will understand with any new format, there will always be a bedding in process, stick with us on this one!” Good luck to all competitors from UKC.
