Bouldering World Cup – Ned Feehally Makes Finals

Ned Feehally at the Eidhoven World CupUKC News, Jun 2009© Hubert – Belclimb.netThe final round of the Bouldering World Cup took place in Eindhoven on the 12th and 13th June.   11 members of the British Bouldering Team took part.The event was won by Kilian Fischhuber (AUT) for the men and Akiyo Noguchi (JPN) for the women. Kilian was the only competitor to climb all four final problems, taking first place for this event and also winning the World Cup overall. Akiyo also took the overall World Cup.The event also saw some more impressive performances from the British team.  Both Ned Feehally, the current Male British Bouldering Champion, and Diane Merrick made it through Friday's qualifying round to compete in the semi-finals on Saturday.  Diane finished in 15th in the Women's event and Ned qualified for the Men's final on Saturday evening.After an exciting final Ned finished in 6th place.”It's great to see younger members of the Bouldering team starting to fulfil their potential on the international circuit.” commented Nick Clement, team manager.Other impressive performances came from Dave Barrans who finished 25th, Stew Watson  27th, Leah Crane 25th and Mina Leslie-Wujastyk 27th.
