BRYCS 2007 Dates Consultation

Every year it is an extremely difficult process deciding on dates for the regional rounds and final of the BMC British Regional Youth Climbing Series. Following last year´s successful public consultation the BMC are repeating the process for the 2007 series.   The consultation will run until 27th July. Anybody with an interest in the competition is invited to let the organisers know when their school holidays and exams are, and to point out any important dates that we should avoid (the World Cup Quarter Final for example!) by posting a reply to the thread on the planetFear forums. To start the process off the BMC have already factored in the following: 1. Major school holidays. 2. GCSE / Scottish equivalent exams. 3. Other BMC organised competitions such as the British Indoor Climbing Championships (BICC) and the British Bouldering Championships (BBC). 4. Other major events on the climbing calendar such as the Ordnance Survey Outdoors Show at Birmingham´s NEC (March 2007). 5. The fact that climbing walls are generally busier during the winter months, and wall managers are understandably keen to avoid closing their walls to the public during busy periods. 6. Feedback from previous BRYCS competitions – we have spread the regional events over more time to allow a week ´off´ in between rounds. Based on these initial considerations the following dates tentatively suggest themselves.Round 1: 10th MarchRound 2: 24th MarchRound 3: 21st AprilFinal: 30th JuneA calendar setting out major considerations can be seen here: http://www.heason.net/Misc/BMCBRYCS2007.htm   ———————————————————————– If you have any news worth reporting please contact Matt – matt@planetfear.com / 0114 2969114 ———————————————————————–
