Challenge 8000

Alan Hinkes has joined forces with WaterAid to launch a fundraisingevent: Challenge 8000. Alan´s personal Challenge 8000 is to be the first Briton to climb thefourteen 8000m mountains – he has already scaled twelve of them. On the29th of November 2002, WaterAid is holding its own Challenge 8000,takingplace at fourteen wall-climbing centres across the country.Each wallwillrepresent a Challenge 8000 mountain, and participants will climb theheightof that mountain between them. The walls / mountains are: Annapurna, Gloucester Everest, Edinburgh Gasherbrum I, Glasgow DHaulagiri, Newton Aycliffe Lhotse, Kendal Kangchenjunga, Leeds Makalu, Warrington Manaslu, Sheffield Shisha Pangma, Birmingham Nanga Parbat, Peterborough Broad Peak, London Cho Oyu, Worthing K2, Bristol Gasherbrum II, Plymouth WaterAid is the UK´s only charity dedicated to the provision of safewater,sanitation and hygiene education for the world´s poorest people.Findoutmore at www.wateraid.org.uk If you are interested in taking part in the Challenge, please emailsarahwilliams@wateraid.org.uk
