Climbing community mourns loss of two fellow climbers

by Alan James The two climbers who died in the Cairgorms, after getting caught in bad weather on Sunday 19th, were Aberdeen University student Richard Hardy from Alton in Hampshire, and graduate Graeme Cooper from Aberdeen. Graeme was a popular contributor to UKC and posted regularly under the name Cooper. Only last week he started a light-hearted thread about Extreme sledging. The thread on the forums which began when news of their disappearance began to filter through initially makes harrowing reading. It then turns into a moving tribute thread with many contributions from friends and relatives of the two climbers. BBC News report of incident BBC follow-up This is North Scotland article
