Dunning Kicks Hollywood Butt

by Mick Ryan Kleptomania Steve Dunning no stranger to hard ascents (repeated Hubble 8c+), has been busy at Hollywood Bowl at Giggleswick Scar North in Yorkshire. The limestone umbrella of Hollywood Bowl is home to nine steep and hard routes (7b+ and up) only four of which top out. He has now added two finishes to the short tufa climb Kleptomania (bolted by Dave Pegg, first ascended by Glen Sutcliffe in 1990). Angel Eyes 8b+ moves left from the old lower off station and Tonto, which may warrant a French sport grade of 9a moves right and involves a dynamic V12 sequence on pockets. Glaring gaps remain, the finish to Illywhacker, 7b+ and The Sound of One Hand Slapping, 7c, are still unclimbed. May it stay dry for the rest of the summer.
