The big news, now confirmed, is that Derbyshire County Council is openening the ´vast majority´ of footpaths in the Peak District by Friday (25th May). This should include Chee Dale, but will not affect access to Burbage. The Lake District has also seen a number of restrictions lifted, and the following areas are now open: National Trust Crags, Bowderstone Crag, Bowderstone, Gowder Crag, Quayfoot Crag, Wodens Face, Castle Head Crag Walla Crag, Rakefoot Buttress, and Shepherd´s Crag. Cubria County Council now has the power to open areas, and the good news for walkers is that the Fells are now beginning to open. Popular walking areas like Talkin Tarn near Brampton and Great Wood near Keswick have already recently reopened. It is expected that Tarn House will be one of the first to reopen under the new restrictions.
