NEWS: UKC Winter Reports

We are very pleased at UKClimbing.com to announce an improvement to our winter conditions coverage over the next few months. We have negotiated with several top guides who are going to work with us to deliver up-to-date conditions reports direct to UKClimbing.com. These guides are in the hills most days and have extensive experience at winter climbing and mountaineering. The reports will consist of occasional forecasts and some post trip reports posted onto the Winter Climbing Forum. They will be posted according to the conditions so if you don't see them, then you can assume that the crags aren't in 'nick'. In the past, condition reporting on UKC has been sporadic and inconsistent. This new set-up should enable us to have reliable and regular reports to all the key areas from people in the know. We would still welcome trip reports from other UKC users, but please post them on the appropriate conditions thread. If there isn't a thread, then start one. Please make these extra reports self-contained with no link-backs to blogs. If you are a guide then please contact us first.Winter Conditions PageWe have also set up a new Winter Conditions Page (see right). This page gathers all the winter routes reported on UKC Logbooks over the preceding 4 days and collates them into a useful list. There is also a clickable map showing the locations of the crags which the routes ticked are on. Other features include a summary of all the Winter Forum threads reporting on conditions, including the new 'official' threads from our Area Correspondents. There are also some useful weather links and a set of the most recently taken winter photos that have been uploaded. If you have any comments on this new page then please let us know via this thread.
