Stanage Bus Running Again

The Number 284 Stanage Bus will be running again every Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday from 28 March through to 24 October 2010.

A busy day on Staange

The bus has been running on and off since 2001 but consistently over the last few years, picking up many dedicated users who are happy to avoid the usual Stanage parking problems which occur most weekends through the summer. It is a bio-deisel bus and has plenty of space for bikes and climbing kit.The bus sets off from the Sheffield Interchange and goes through Hunters Bar on to Ringinglow, to Burbage, all three car parks at Stanage, and then down to Hathersage. There are four buses running each day, two early and two later ones. If you are coming from Manchester then you can catch the train to Hathersage to connect to the bus up the hill to the Gritstone. It costs only £2 for the return journey. If you catch the first bus out and the last bus back in then you should be able to fit in over 8 hours climbing!
