Weather looking bleak for Edale Skyline

This Sunday, the Edale Skyline Fell Race is taking place; centered around Edale in the High Peak. The race is 21 miles long and covers the surrounding areas of the ´skyline of Edale´ climbing over 4,500 feet on the way.  Famous peaks of Mam Tor, Win Hill, Lose Hill and parts of Kinder will be passed on the way, making it one of the toughest races on the calendar.  This year it is also a counter in the English Championship Race Series. There have been several weather warnings sent out from the Met Office with snow, rain and hail a possibility!  With temperatures of -1oC expected during the day with a maximum wind chill of up to -18oC! (Yes! -18oC!!) mean that the competitors might think twice about leaving that extra Helly in their wardrobe. With starts from 10.30 onwards the competitors will be in for a great day of fell running!  Good luck to all who are taking part, and all the marshals who have to stand and take a beating from the conditions!
