Well known french alpinist & guide Jean Christophe Lafaille (one of this years Piolet d´Or nominees) has fallen which ice climbing near Vail, USA. He took a 20m tumble, banging his head & breaking a shoulder. As a result he´s suffering from amnesia; seems he doesn´t remember arriving in the USA. He´s expected to be out of action for a while – which will slow him down in his 8 000m peak bagging, he was hoping for his 9th later this year.
