Yuji Hirayama flying in Yosemite

Yuji Hirayama has broken the record for free climbing El Cap´s Salathé Wall.He led the 35 pitch route in 13 hours, 6 hours quicker than Tommy Caldwell´s first-ever one day ascent, which he completed in 19 1/2 hours last August.Yuji first climed the route in 1997 in his historic attempt to on-sight the whole thing.During his time in the Valley, Yuji got close to breaking last year´s record on the Nose when he and Hans Florine topped out after 3 hours and 26 minutes, 2 minutes behind Timmy O Neil and Dean Potter´s incredible climb last year.With the best season for Yosemite climbing now upon us, expect some more impressive stuff over the next month.
