[VIDEO] Jonathan Siegrist nabs two 8c second ascents in Switzerland

Der Bauch is an amazing climbing crag above Engelber, Switzerland with access to a handful of huge sport pitches from a ledge system that you have to approach through via ferrata and steep hiking. As soon as you leave the ground you have immense exposure and when you're topping out the 40 meter routes you have well over 300 meters of air below your ass.

Jonathan Siegrist and his friends spent a beautiful summer night bivyed up there – tars overhead, beers in hand, with a great day of climbing behind them and another one coming up in the morning.

Local Matthias Trottman was also on hand to show Jonathan some of the best routes, including two of the crag’s current test-pieces, ‘Quattro Stagioni’ and ‘Putain le System’ both in the low 8c range, and both amazing, according to Jonathan.

He nabbed the first repeats of both, but not without a bit of interference from his video filmer who happened to be standing on a hold he needed. It all worked out in the end and Jonathan was able to enjoy one of the most beautiful crags in Europe with a company of great climbers.
