Audrey Seguy© Keith Sharples, Jul 2008BMC invites climbers to compete at CliffhangerThe best of British boulderers will compete for the title of national champion at the Cliffhanger outdoor festival in Sheffield on the weekend of 11-12 July 2009. If last year's nail-biting championships is anything to go by, the competition will certainly live up to the festival's name.The British Bouldering Championships, organised by the BMC, will take place on a purpose-built bouldering wall in Millhouses Park, amongst all the other activities of the festival. The junior event will be held on Saturday 11 July and the senior championships on Sunday 12 July. The championships will also form part of the selection process for the Senior 2010 British Bouldering Team.Last year saw over 100 competitors take part in Britain's premier bouldering competition. The reigning senior champions are Ned Feehally and Audrey Seguy. The current junior champions are Jonathan Stocking and Shauna Coxsey. But will they reign supreme again? There's the cliffhanger!Rob Adie, BMC Competitions Officer said: ?Entries are now open so if you think you've got what it takes to compete, then why not enter? We look forward to welcoming new and established competitors. We also hope to see lots of spectators coming to cheer on the British bouldering talent and to enjoy all the festival has to offer.?The application deadline is Friday 3 July. Spectators can get up close to the action in the big marquee, where a Dyno competition will also take place.
