100 8as Flashed / On-sighted in a Year

Recently Steve McClure flew out on a 10 day trip to the South of France for some winter sun and to add to his list of 8a?s in the hope of reaching 100 in the space of a year. This was achieved in the first couple of days, the last one being Malestrom, 8a+ at Russan, flashed with the draws in place. Of the 100 8a and above routes, 90 were either on-sighted or flashed. After a couple of excellent days climbing it was suddenly clear that 10 more 8a flashes could be added to the list. With the rest of the team willing him on and ticking off the routes as he went Steve sent his 100th route on just about the last possible chance. ?Monocle? 8a+, a 40 metre tufa endurance route, was on-sighted at Seynes in the mist and with the top of the crag being soaked by rain. ?This was one of those awesome moments in my climbing, I really wanted it. Missing clips I was faced with a desperate long slap for a jug or a 50 foot fall. I was totally out of there, but something came from nowhere. I?ve never been so all out on a route before.? The totals are: 65 8as, 26 8a+s, 8 8bs, and 1 8b+ all either onsight or flashed
