A mini-Touching The Void in Scotland

It´s not a tale for the faint-hearted: Craig Reid was alone as he descended from Bidean Nan Bian in Glencoe. Then he fell and broke his leg. Stuck on a waterfall above a 20-foot drop, no waterproofs, a broken compass and increasing pain from his leg, he didn´t have much choice but to fend for himself in the open – and somehow try to get down. The full and in its way inspirational story is at BBC News Online. As an example of how being ingenious can potentially make the difference between life and death, it´s hard to beat. Craig, from Bath in Somerset, is now recovering in hospital. Best wishes to him for a speedy recovery. He´s earned it. ( Source: BBC News (climber) )
