by Doug Evans La montagne d´aujourdhui et de demain/Mountains today & tommorow ENSA* 5 Spetember 2002 (* = Ecole National d´Alpinisme et Ski) As part of the International Year of the Mountains, Sportsnature.com, ENSA & the town of Chamonix are organising a day of talks and debates on the development of mountain sports, focusing on the rise of newer activities such as Mountain Biking, Via Ferrata, Adventure Parks, together with associated marketing and the possible conflict with more traditional mountain sports. These activities often lead to a demand for ever more security & ease of access which alpinists have tried to resist. Contributors include the well known guide François Damilano, Philippe Descamps (editor of Montagnes magazine) and Catherine Destivel (to be confirmed). Entry is free but there are limited places & reservation is advised. More at: http://www.Sportsnature.org
