Also in Yosemite, in early May, lines were temporarily fixed to the top of Boot Flake on the Nose for a clean up operation. 3 haulbags worth of rubbish were collected from behind Texas Flake, and several decaying fixed ropes were removed. Over several days 24 bolts were replaced and 18 excess bolts were removed. Additionally, many hangers at abseil points or lower-offs were replaced with bomber double-ring Fixe hangers, eliminating the need to use webbing or other tat to lower off. The Jardine variation, with some of the worst remaining anchors on the Nose, was completely replaced. Unfortunately there are still bad bolts in the area of Camp 4.
