The infamous El Chorro walkway, the Camino del Rey, has been blocked by the removal of the initial section (and perhaps more) by Spanish authorities. As anyone who has been to El Chorro will testify, the walkway has long been in a state of ´terminal´ decline, with short sections missing, making for a gripping walk-in to some excellent crags. It would appear to be possible to climb past this section, and it is still possible to access the other end of the walkway by crossing the gorge from the railyway side. The walkway was constructed, as its name suggests, for the then King to inspect the construction of a hydro electric dam, and was never really designed to last this long, but will be missed.
