Malcolm Smith – Careless Torque

Malcolm Smith has made a coveted repeat of Careless Torque at Stanage. Graded E7 7a and originally climbed by Ron Fawcett in the 80´s, it has seen plenty of activity, but only one reported repeat by John Dunne. Malcolm reckons the route is Font 8a. Yesterday he also climbed the Joker on his 6th attempt, and he has recently repeated Ben Moon´s Gardoms testpiece 8 Ball (8b) and came fourth in the final leg of the World Bouldering Championships in Birmingham.
