Mountaineering Update

Kazakh climbers Sergey Samoilov and Denis Urubko have climbed Manaslu, the world´s 8th highest mountain twice this year. They first summited by the ´ordinary´ route on April 25th, before returning via a new alpine style route on the North East face. Last year the pair established a similar style route on Broad Peak. Meanwhile two of North America´s best alpinists Sue Nott and Karen McNeill are reported as missing on the 17,400 foot Mount Foraker in Alaska. Rangers are still hopeful of finding the women, who it is thought may have been sheltering from high winds in a snow hole.
