by Noel Williams A new section of footpath giving access to the North Face of Ben Nevis was officially opened on Monday by Cameron McNeish, Chairman of the Nevis Partnership. The new path starts from the old ´puggy line´ and cuts up through a block of woodland recently purchased by the Forestry Commission Scotland. The new path avoids the long detour along the back of the golf course and will be welcomed by climbers accessing the North Face this winter. A spur off the path leads to a spectacular viewing point for the North Face. The path will be maintained by the Forestry Commission. ( Source: Forestry Commission News )
