The last event of this years World Cup was held today near Aydat. The format was a middle distance race with the top ranked runners starting last. The race was held in very technical terrain, and winning times were a little under the expected. Thierry Gueorgiou once again reigned supreme in his home terrain, winning both the race and the overall World Cup. In the women´s race in was finally Marianne Anderson´s turn to win, after so many podium places over the last few years. Top Brit was 21 year old Mhairi Mackenzie who had a great run to finish in 7th place. Jon Duncan and Graham Gristwood performed well in the mens to finish 12th and 15th respectively.
