Over the weekend of the 6, 7 & 8 September 2002 the Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team are holding a fundraising weekend at the wasdale Head inn. There will be free camping on Friday and Saturday night at the Barn Door shop campsite. Friday night will see a band, BBQ and beer festival. Saturday will have the beer festival, orienteering, fell race, treasure hunts, MRT exhibition and charity shop, it will be rounded off with an auction of climbing and outdoor gear to the value of £13,000.All the gear is new and very good. See www.wasdale-mountain-rescue.org.uk and go to the section called Kern Knotts. Sunday sees the hangover cure to beat all hangover cures in the hare and hound race around the valley floor. All in all, this year´s weekend should be a good one. I thought your membership may like to include this weekend in their calendar as I know a lot of other clubs will be visiting.
