As the heat of the summer season ebbs away Yosemite once again becomes one of the focus points for the climbing world. 16 year old David Lama has onsighted the Leaning Tower – West Face, f8a, 5.13b / E7 6c, and Ma Cochon D´nde, f8a+. Leo Houlding made the news back in 2001 when he made a near onsight ascent of the former route with Jason Pickles, skipping just the very first bolt-ladder pitch. The route is one of, if not the, steepest in the Yosemite Valley. Meanwhile Dean Potter has made the third solo ascent of Seperate Reality (Wolfgang Gullich and Heinz Zak made the first and second respectively). Source: 8a.nu & UKClimbing respectively
