JK 2007 Preview

This weekend will see 3,500 orienteers descend on the Forest of Dean for the annual Jan Kjellstrom International Festival of Orienteering. The event kicks off with a Sprint Prologue around the University of the West of England campus in Bristol on Friday. Many of Britain´s top elites will be there with Dan Marston and Jo Stevenson flying back from Scandinavia to compete and Norwegian elite runners from the club Wing also taking part including Norwegian team runner Oystein Kvaal Osterbo. planetFear will be represented by Jenny Johnson, Matt Dickinson and Shane Ohly. Saturday and Sunday sees Middle and Long distance races for the elites in the Forest of Dean before the weekend is rounded off with the first UK Relay League race of 2007 on Easter Monday at Caerwent Army Camp near Chepstow. Other names to look out for at the top of the field include Helen Winskill (6 months after having a baby), Pippa Whitehouse, Rachael Elder (BUSA Champion), Lizzie Adams (first year senior), Aislinn Austin and Becky Carlyle in the women´s with Oli Johnson (BUSA Champion), Graham Gristwood, Scott Fraser, Oleg Chepelin and Rob Baker some of the top tips for the men´s podium places.
