Markus Schwaiger reports: Markus Haid from Ötztal, Austria, has, after countless tries opened Mordor, 8c+/9a, at the Niederthal in Ötztal. As for Wie Waldläufer, an 8c he opened a few days earlier, the route is a totally natural line. Mordor has two parts: The first part is a demanding 8b+ after which you have a good rest. After the rest it´s time for some serious pulling since the second part is a very hard 8c.
