Blyth Wright Has Passed Away

Blyth Wright, a great servant of Scottish Mountaineering, died last Sunday 24th May following illness. His work at Loch Eil Centre, Glenmore Lodge and ISM made him one of the best known characters in Scottish mountaineering. He will be particularly well remembered for the work he did as co-ordinator of the Scottish Avalanche Information Service and for the two books he co-authored: the original Poll Dubh guide with Klaus Schwartz and “A Chance in a Million” with Bob Barton.Above all he will remain as a fond memory in the extraordinary set of anecdotes in which he starred!I understand the funeral will be at Aviemore on Friday.
