BMC Outdoor Youth Meet in the Peak District For young people age 7 to 18 with experience of climbing indoors who want to acquire some of the basic skills and knowledge required to climb outdoors.The event is free and will be held in the Roaches area of Staffordshire on Saturday 16th September 2006. It will be run and organised by local BMC volunteer and Peak Area Youth Coordinator Mandy Dennison. Activities will take place at carefully selected areas between 10am and 4pm. Each participant will be introduced to: Bouldering outdoorsBuilding belays, placing and removing protectionSeconding climbs outdoors Between 5pm and 7pm there will be a free BBQ at a local climbing wall for all those taking part in the day ? the young people and their parents and all the volunteers. Young people, at the event, must be accompanied throughout the day by a parent, guardian or carer.
