The most serious rockfall to hit Portland since the big slide of Blacknor South a few years ago has struck a significant portion of Coastguard South, leaving a massive pile of rock and mud at the crag´s entrance. Routes from Reactor Meltdown to Guardian Angel – a total of 9 routes – have all vanished (Rockfax page nos. 108-109), leaving the Grip ´89 sector a mere shadow of its former glory."Visitors should take scuba gear to gain entrance, accompanied by the usual disinfectant for the rock shoes, of course – the rare hoof fish is known to suffer scale lesions when exposed to the ubiquitous F&M virus".
