Paklencia National Park. With a year round climbing season, a full range of grades and route lengths and proximity to the Med, it´s no wonder the area is one of the most important climbing venues in Croatia. The Croatian Mountaineering Club are organising the 6th consecutive Big Wall Speed Climbing (friendly) Competition in the Park. It will take place in Starigrad from April 28th to May 1st. In addition to the competition the organisers will be putting on slide shows, lectures and a party. Entrants are invited to take part. Check out their website for more info. Back in May 2003 Tim Emmett and Mike Weeks took part in the competition, finishing 4th having climbed the 160m F6c+ in 40 minutes and 40 seconds.
