A climber has fallen to his death and two others were injured, one seriously, when an abseil block gave way on a descent from Tower Ridge, Ben Nevis. The accident happened at the weekend after the party had aborted their ascent due to poor conditions. The abseil failed as the first climber descended, pulling the other two climbers with him.
