VIDEO: Alexander Megos on „Royal Flush“ (8B+/C)

Alexander Megos visits a spot in the Frankenjura located right next to a busy road to attempt Royal Flush. Challenged by warmer temperatures and lingering finger pain, Megos works through the beta for this specific sequence of moves to navigate the boulder's intricate, technical start.

YouTube Text:

After straining my tendons on my 9c project, I had to take a forced break. No fingerboard, no campus board, just waiting for the pain to go away. It’s been a frustrating few weeks, but today I finally went back to the Frankenjura to see where I stand.

I decided to test my fingers on „Royal Flush“ (8b+/c). This line is classic Franken: small, sharp crimps and pure power. To be honest, I wasn’t sure if my tendons would hold up or if I’d have to pack my bags after 5 minutes.

But hey, as I’ve said before: Climbing isn’t a „real“ sport anyway, right? So, watch me doing some „non-sporty“ activities on some of the sharpest rocks in Germany.

Let me know what you think about the „sport“ debate in the comments! Is it just moving over rocks, or is it the hardest thing in the world?

Either way, enjoy the video and enjoy whichever form of climbing you choose to do.

Fun is the core!!!
