Tim Clifford of Leeds has just made the third ascent of The Dominator V13, on the Wine boulder cave at Camp 4, Yosemite.This Jerry Moffat test piece had only been repeated previously by Ben Moon and Fred Nicole (who managed to repeat it, but accidentally kicked a spotter on the lip swing, which some think invalidated his ascent). Several prominent boulderers have attempted but not succeeded on the powerful granite roof.Tim got the problem on his eighth try last Saturday (April 28th) after trying it several times during the previous week. He is now trying the obvious sit down start. Of note, Tim recently made the fastest ascent of the Mandala V12, at the Peabody boulders in the Buttermilks.
